In well over thirty years of service I have never had a set fee for anything I've done in ministry. Whether it be speaking engagements, revivals, or conferences, I have trusted in the Lord and my hosts to meet my needs. Even when dealing with the four churches where i have served in full time positions, we never discussed what my salary would be. I simply accepted what they were offering. After I had been at Wyatte Baptist a while, one of our deacons was concerned that I wasn't making enough money. I told him, "I am going to work hard for this church and the Lord. We are going to see the church grow and y'all are going to take care of me and my family." That is exactly what happened.
So, if you choose to use my services, it is between you and the Lord what you think this ministry is worth. He has been faithful to provide for me and family all of these years and will continue to use his people to sustain us.
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
